The Advanced Practice Nurse will play a vital role in adhering to departmental goals and delivering quality patient care. Operating independently as a certified nurse practitioner, you’ll collaborate with a licensed physician to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments of acute and non-acute clinical issues, documenting physical exams and patient histories to create effective management plans.
• Anticipate and identify patient needs by considering their cultural background and support systems, serving as an advocate for their health.
• Manage patient care including writing orders for admissions, transfers, and discharges; ordering lab and diagnostic tests; prescribing medications; and making consultations as required.
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain comprehensive notes to communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to the success of patient management strategies.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies, utilizing advanced communication skills to resolve complex situations.

• Coordinate transitions of care and discharge planning for patients, ensuring smooth and medically appropriate transfers.
• Facilitate discussions with patients and families regarding treatment goals and end-of-life care options.
• Prescribe medications in compliance with state regulations.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A strong track record of achieving clinical performance metrics.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.
• Detail-oriented with strong listening skills.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience:

• Required: ARNP or advanced degree in Nursing.
• Current Nurse Practitioner Certification in your state is a must.
• Preferred: Board certification through AANP or ANCC.
• DEA certification for controlled substances may be required based on your state.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is preferred; exceptional candidates may be considered.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first 90 days of employment.
