Windows Systems Engineer

As a member of the Utility Computing (UC) organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Region Services Corporate Infrastructure (RSCI) is looking for an experienced Windows Systems Engineer with a deep knowledge of Windows Active Directory and desktop services, including virtual desktops and infrastructure. This position requires that the candidate selected must be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Manage/Operate and Maintain Active Directory and component systems (DNS, DHCP, NPS, Exchange)
• Security compliance to include hardening the OS and desktop applications.
• Manage metrics and monitoring services.
• Creates and updates system documentation for engineering, operations, and support teams.

A Day in the Life

Our mission is to deliver robust, highly available, and easy to use services to our internal customers in support of the Amazon Dedicated Cloud for U.S. Government customers. We are looking for a motivated engineer to deliver results for our customers. This is a hands-on position where your daily role will maintain and enhance existing services, including Windows build / deployment capabilities, fulfilling requests for application packaging / deployment and break / fix scenarios for all technologies the team manages. This role will work closely with the Security Compliance team to ensure security compliance with all desktop environments.

You will have a strong and diverse technical background that allows you to approach problems with confidence and ingenuity. You must be a "lifelong learner", embracing the rapid innovations in technology and understanding how to leverage them to continue to improve our products. A successful Windows Client Engineer will drive the design and implementation of new services, find ways to improve and automate our existing services, and provide escalation and mentoring for junior team members.
