Accountant I
Location: Loveland, CO 
Contract Length: 1-Year Contract, Potential for Extension
Pay Rate: $40–$42/hour

Role Overview

The Accountant I will provide key financial support to the accounting team, assisting with high-volume journal entries, month-end close processes, and weekly competitive allowance reporting. This position will temporarily cover responsibilities during a team member’s maternity leave and contribute to ongoing accounting projects and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close activities

• Collaborate with team members on accounting and reporting tasks

• Complete weekly reports for competitive allowance accounts

• Support ad hoc accounting projects such as vendor prepay and foundation reporting

• Assist with financial analysis and reporting tool implementations

• Identify and recommend improvements to accounting procedures

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience (flexible for the right fit)

Skills & Competencies:

• Solid understanding of accounting principles

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Effective communication and teamwork abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and data management)

• Experience with PeopleSoft and/or SAP preferred

• Familiarity with the retail agriculture industry a plus
