Toolmaker 3rd Shift

We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker who will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, sketches, and models to determine machining strategies and material selection. You will set up and operate both manual and CNC equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, saws, and EDM machines. The role involves creating and optimizing CNC programs using CAM software to ensure precision and efficiency, and inspecting machined parts using precision instruments. This position is a fantastic opportunity to conceptualize and fabricate specialty tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support production and R&D, while applying knowledge of metallurgy and heat-treating processes to enhance tool performance and longevity.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, sketches, and models to determine machining strategy and material selection.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, saws, wire and RAM EDM.
• Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software to ensure precision and efficiency.
• Inspect and verify machined parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and height gauges.
• Conceptualize and fabricate specialty tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support production and R&D.
• Apply knowledge of metallurgy and heat-treating processes to enhance tool performance and longevity.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in tool and die, toolmaking, CNC machining.
• Strong understanding of G-Code and CNC programming.
• Experience with CAM software.
• In-depth knowledge of metal properties, heat treatment, and machining tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Open to working 3rd shift (10:30 PM - 7 AM) and Sundays (11 AM - 7 PM).

This is a Permanent position based out of Kernersville, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $71000.00/yr.
