The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Opportunity is an accelerated entry-level program designed to equip you with the skills needed for a Store Management role within 18-24 months. With our promote-from-within philosophy, you will have a pathway to become an Assistant Store Manager upon successfully completing the initial 8-week training.

This role typically requires a commitment of 44 hours each week, including evenings and weekends.

During the program, you will work closely with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, contributing leadership and strategic insight to enhance store success. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of operations, clientele, and internal strategies, preparing you to significantly impact team performance. You will focus on expanding the company’s market share by engaging large commercial clients such as painting contractors and purchasing agents who require substantial quantities of our premium products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Completing the structured training program
  • Supporting strategies to drive sales and optimize profitability
  • Ensuring excellent customer satisfaction
  • Building product knowledge to effectively recommend to customers
  • Establishing positive relationships with wholesale and retail clients
  • Managing store administration
  • Ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Maintaining store condition and merchandising standards
  • Contributing to employee training and performance management
  • Resolving customer and employee complaints
  • Collaborating with the Store Manager on outside sales efforts

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be authorized to work in the country without sponsorship for a work visa
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree by the start of the program
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service
  • Leadership experience with supervising or coaching teams
  • Work experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in selling paint or related products
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and/or CRM systems
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities
  • Proficiency in more than one language
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
