As a Level I Novice Registered Nurse, you will embark on a rewarding journey in your nursing career. This position is perfect for recent graduates who have completed an accredited nursing program and are eager to develop their clinical skills in a supportive environment at Mary Washington Healthcare.

Your Role as a Level I Registered Nurse:

• Direct and coordinate patient nursing care while collaborating with licensed and unlicensed personnel to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Engage patients and their families in the care process, including education and planning for discharge.
• Work closely with the healthcare team to communicate the plan of care and any relevant information.
• Assist leadership in establishing standards of excellence in patient care and contribute to service improvements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and integrate performance enhancement into daily care delivery.
• Support daily operations that ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Provide feedback to the Nurse Manager regarding unit requirements and improvement opportunities.
• Engage in committee work for the formulation of nursing policies and procedures at the unit, departmental, and hospital levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned to maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications:

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program with no prior RN experience.
• Possess a valid RN License from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state.
• A BSN degree is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR certification is required upon hire.
• AHA ACLS Provider certification is required within your first year.
• NIHSS (Bluecloud) certification is required within 90 days.
