1st Shift Electro Mechanical Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Electro Mechanical Maintenance Technician with over 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or electro-mechanics. Candidates should possess a strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial controls, and have experience in a food manufacturing environment. The ability to work independently and troubleshoot under pressure is essential, along with familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair processing and packaging equipment.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM).
• Maintain proper documentation using CMMS systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair control panels, motors, and power distribution systems.
• Work with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, and automated packaging equipment.
• Perform mechanical alignments, bearing replacements, and belt tensioning.
• Calibrate temperature sensors, flow meters, and pressure instruments.
• Use diagnostic tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Follow SOPs and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or electro-mechanics.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial controls.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in electromechanical technology, electrical engineering, or industrial maintenance.
• High school diploma with extensive hands-on experience may be acceptable.
• Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment (3-5 years).
• Experience with automated or robotic systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with CMMS like MP2 or SAP.

Work Environment

The role requires the ability to lift over 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in both hot and cold environments. Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and respond to emergency calls is necessary. This is a team-oriented environment where strong problem-solving and communication skills are valued. A commitment to supporting cross-functional tasks is expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $39.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
