X-Ray Technician

Baptist Health Urgent Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate ARRT Radiology or Limited License X-Ray Technicians to become integral members of our dynamic healthcare team.

ABOUT BAPTIST HEALTH URGENT CARE:
Baptist Health Urgent Care operates 23 locations across Arkansas as an affiliate of Urgent Team, a major provider of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. Our centers offer accessible and affordable healthcare services: from treatment for injuries and illnesses to occupational health and wellness care. We operate seven days a week: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Our Fort Smith-Northside location has specific hours on weekends from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. All our centers are Accredited Care Centers, a recognition from the Urgent Care Association attesting to our commitment to safety, quality, and comprehensive service.

JOB SUMMARY:
As an X-Ray Technician, you will perform x-ray tests, utilizing your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to ensure proper body mechanics and patient movement. You will operate diagnostic equipment, develop film, and equip the examination room with necessary supplies for procedures, in addition to taking on Medical Assistant duties. Our full-time team members work a rotating schedule of 36-40 hours per week, which includes 12-hour weekday shifts and every other weekend. PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities reflect the general expectations for this position, but are not exhaustive. Additional tasks may be assigned.

• Warmly greet patients as they enter the waiting area and x-ray rooms.
• Keep patients informed about wait times and provide guidance on the next steps in their care.
• Address patient concerns proactively and seek assistance in emergencies.
• Make follow-up calls with urgency and care.
• Assist front desk staff with patient check-in and out as necessary.
• Accurately record patient vital signs, medical history, current medications, allergies, and relevant details.
• Support patient transfers and assist in procedures under provider supervision.
• Adhere to documentation protocols and complete required paperwork for patient visits.
• Conduct timely radiology procedures to facilitate immediate evaluation by physicians.
• Perform necessary quality control checks to ensure accurate exam results.
• Prepare patients for x-ray procedures, ensuring compliance with clinical and regulatory safety standards.
• Maintain equipment functionality and report any issues to the Manager or on-duty provider.
• Pursue ongoing education to enhance diagnostic imaging knowledge and skills.
• Maintain current licensure and certification relevant to facility equipment and radiology practices.

WHAT'S REQUIRED?
High school diploma or equivalent, BLS Certification, AR State X-Ray License, ARRT Certification preferred, and experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
