POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated X-Ray Imaging Technician to provide high-quality imaging procedures to our patients and physicians in a respectful and efficient manner within a safe and clean environment.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education/Training

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and accredited by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, with compliance to CE Requirements.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Workplace Experience

Preferred one year of hospital experience post-graduation and accreditation; however, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Equipment and Skills Training

Knowledge of various x-ray equipment and computer systems is required. Training will be provided on specific equipment and procedures used at Williamson Health. Previous training in fluoroscopy, surgery, and routine studies is advantageous.

Physical Environment

Must adhere to radiation safety practices and universal precautions in a multi-modality imaging department.

Physical Effort

Must be capable of executing multifaceted tasks which include operating equipment, assisting in patient mobility, lifting, bending, twisting, stooping, and demonstrating effective verbal and written communication. Must also maintain emotional stability while engaging with patients and colleagues.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1. Verify patient identity and physician orders to ensure accuracy before proceeding with imaging studies.
2. Inquire about the possibility of pregnancy for female patients (ages 12-50) and document appropriately.
3. Document information regarding allergies and medical history for patients receiving intravenous contrast media.
4. Implement radiation safety protocols for all individuals, including adherence to ALARA, IMAGE GENTLY, and IMAGE WISELY.
5. Maintain patient dignity by ensuring they are appropriately covered at all times during exams and transport.
6. Proactively assist in other areas during downtime for optimal resource utilization.
7. Monitor patient comfort and coverage while they wait in hallways.
8. Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in challenging situations, making appropriate decisions.
9. Show willingness to work overtime or fill-in as needed.
10. Prioritize patient safety by following all procedures while transferring patients.
11. Consistently perform high-quality imaging studies.
12. Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure efficient equipment use and timely completion of physician and patient requests.
