Main missions
Minimum Qualifications
Strong leadership skills with 2 years of supervisory experience
Knowledge of welder and welding safety standards
Knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel rules
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
Ability to interpret welding symbols and technical drawings
Ability to interpret and follow an approved inspection and test plan
Experience with welding various materials (Carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys)
Experience with various welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW and SAW)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with welding reactive and refractory materials (Titanium, Tantalum, Zirconium, Niobium)
Proficiency with ERP tools (JD Edwards/Oracle)
Knowledge of AWS standards
Knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3 codes and Section VIII Division 2 rules
Experience with NDE (Dye Penetrant, Ultrasonic, Radiographic)
Main duties
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all Mersen safety initiatives.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the weld team.
Utilize ERP tools to complete work orders, issue materials, monitor labor variances, etc.
Leads daily huddle meetings to facilitate communication between weld team and management.
Utilize problem solving tools to address non-conformities and improve productivity.
Account for possible project challenges or constraints and proactively seeks to manage those challenges.
Ensure compliance with ASME Pressure Vessel rules (Section V, Section VIII, Section IX).
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 QMS standards
Hire, train, develop and evaluate weld team members.
Check layouts, fit-ups and perform final inspections of welded components to ensure products meet Mersen and/or customer quality standards.
