Fitter

As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting miscellaneous steel components according to technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring that they meet design specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

1. Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
2. Weld steel members efficiently and accurately.
3. Move steel members into positions manually or with hoists or cranes.
4. Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, utilizing jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
5. Determine the appropriate method and sequence of tasks to fabricate items in the most efficient way possible.
6. Coach and train lower-level fitters to help them advance in their skill sets.
7. Assist foremen and managers in maintaining consistent workflow and production on the shop floor to ensure timely completion of projects.
8. Ensure all peers are following safety policies diligently.
9. Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify defects, ensuring that the finished product meets quality standards.

• Ability to use tape measures accurately

• Strong welding capabilities
• Production experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a fitter or fitter helper
• Solid welding knowledge

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleburne, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
