Responsibilities

What You'll Do

NCTAMS PAC provides comprehensive, around-the-clock telecommunications support to strategic and tactical war-fighters throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Area of Responsibility and beyond. This position manages the operation and maintenance of four operations centers: Wahiawa, Hawaii Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Mobile User Objective System (MUOS), Kaneohe, Hawaii Tactical Support Communications (TSCOMM), Naval Radio Transmitting Facility (NRTF). The on-site DOD Gateway Operation Managers shall have a Secret Clearance and possess relevant experience in managing a team of system operators responsible for local and remote operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the facilities professionalism and timely communication with both customers and higher authority.
• Balancing the workload to an integrated support team managing the daily (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) care and operations of equipment located in multiple geographically separated locations.
• Maintaining standard operating procedures and developing procedures to assure maximum availability of operational assets.
• Helping resolve disputes or disagreements.
• Ensuring operators are properly trained, executing, and reporting in a timely manner.
• Providing timely reports on equipment status, trend analysis, hazardous conditions, and outages.
• Obtaining EKMS 301 certification within 30 days of hire.
• Maintaining the sites master station log and ensuring all events occurring on shift are accurately documented.
• Being responsible for the site's security.
• Conducting periodic security rounds of the building and compound.
• Flexible 8x5 (Monday-Friday) (24x7 on-call) work schedule 24-hour x 7 support.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High School diploma.

Certifications: Must be minimally IAT Level II certified with appropriate baseline security and operating system/computer environment (OS/CE) certification in accordance with DoD 8570.

CSWF Code 47 Position (reference Attachment "Cyber Security Work Force Requirements" and DoD Directive 8140.01 Cyberspace Workforce Management, DoD Directive 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program and SECNAV M-5239.2 Cyberspace Information Technology and Cybersecurity Workforce Management and Qualification Manual).

Sec+ / BPE / CWSP / WCET / IPEP

Obtain EKMS 301 certification within 30 days of hire.

Experience: The ideal candidate must have a broad knowledge of SATOM/Global Teleport site and systems to include operations and maintenance functions. Possess domain expertise in Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and network system operations, help desk coordination, expeditionary military network operations, Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning, facilities and cyber security. Experience managing personnel covered by Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) a plus.
