Overview
We are seeking a Vice President or Director level Senior Relationship Manager in our Diversified Industries Group primarily covering the South Bay Market in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience calling on middle-market companies generating $50MM - $2B in revenue and has established relationships with customers, COIs, and key stakeholders in the Bay Area.
The RM will drive new client acquisition and growth in market share across the middle market segment and all industry verticals. The role requires developing and leveraging strong relationships with the Portfolio Management and Treasury Product Services Teams, as well as other key product and support partners within the Commercial Bank across geographies to deliver an exceptional customer experience. The RM will also deliver the integrated BMO One Client focus across Wealth, Retail, Small Business, and Capital Markets.
Facilitates growth initiatives for the Bank through significant business development and maintains an outstanding revenue generation record from sales and syndications. Ensures compliance with internal control standards, audit, regulatory and compliance policies.
Responsibilities
- Leads and executes business development plans to achieve or exceed business goals.
- Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
- Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives based on market understanding.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
- Advises on sales strategy based on market, industry verticals, client needs and growth opportunities.
- Conducts independent analysis to resolve strategic issues.
- Develops the business case by identifying needs, analyzing options and assessing ROI.
- Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops a roadmap for strategic execution.
- Networks with industry contacts to gain insights and best practices.
- Coordinates management of databases and ensures data alignment with governance standards.
- Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment.
- Manages the risk of the assigned complex portfolio in a timely and precise manner.
- Directly manage the annual review process, interim reviews, specified quarterly reports and resolution of exceptions.
- Maintains accurate documentation and adherence to policies and procedures for the Bank's position.
- Leads execution of operational programs; adjusts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
- Acts as daily sales contact for clients on product information, pricing, timelines and requirements.
- Gathers data to advance the sales process and completes required documentation.
- Supports pre-sales activities such as pitch preparation and client research.
- Tracks implementation requests to maintain timelines.
- Tracks internal reports and recommends improvements to sales materials.
- Compiles pre-call and post-call information packages by accessing internal systems and bank personnel to validate client holdings, pricing, and volumes.
- Provides research and data to the sales team to address client needs.
- Assists with sales and service administration to ensure a seamless client experience.
- Maintains current client information in Bank systems/files to ensure history accuracy.
- Ensures accurate billing to clients.
- Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Applies expertise to address complex, non-routine problems and implements changes in response to shifting trends.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
- Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Credit qualifications and knowledge as applicable to the role.
- Demonstrated history of successful business development, including ability to network in external markets.
- Knowledge of relevant industry verticals and market competition.
- Experience in negotiating with clients and legal counsel.
- Experience drafting responses to complex RFPs.
- Experience with sales strategy and sales referral process development.

Salary and Benefits
Salary: $122,400.00 - $228,000.00
Pay Type: Salaried
The above represents BMO Financial Group\'s pay range and type. Salaries vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. For commission roles, the salary listed represents the expected target for the first year in this position.
