Ultrasound Services Clinical Supervisor

Position Summary: The Ultrasound Services Clinical Supervisor plays a crucial role in leading the Ultrasound imaging departments while performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations. Collaborating closely with the Radiology Supervisor, Director, or Manager, you will ensure efficient department operations and quality patient care.

As a hands-on Supervisor, you will not only supervise the ultrasound staff but also engage directly with patients, providing exceptional care and obtaining high-quality ultrasound images. You will be responsible for monitoring patient workflow, educating staff as needed, and serving as a role model in professionalism and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain work schedules for the ultrasound team, coordinating coverage for time off requests.
• Participate in on-call rotations with the Director and Manager.
• Coach and guide team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance and quality control standards in radiology practices.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from an accredited ultrasound technology program, ARSMS credentialed.
• Certifications/Licenses: Valid Radiology license in New Mexico and BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
• Skills: Proficient in ultrasound imaging technology, anatomy, physiology, radiographic positioning, and medical terminology.
• Experience: At least three years of experience at the Charge Tech level; certification in additional modalities is a plus.

Nature of Supervision:

Reports to the Director/Manager of Radiology Services.

Work Environment:

Expect exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and radiation. This role requires flexibility to work irregular hours and multitask in a dynamic patient care environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to manage emergency situations, maintain prolonged standing, and operate effectively in conditions requiring manual dexterity and coordination. Comfortable lifting and transferring patients or equipment over 50 lbs. Must possess normal hearing and visual acuity.
