Job Description Summary
nThe Turbofan Staff Performance Engineer demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives in the field of Engine Performance. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of your expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. You will perform and provide leadership in Performance studies, engine test planning, test coverage and data analysis, and engine/systems integration, working within a matrix environment to support aircraft integration and engine development/production.

Utilize the latest thermodynamic modeling tools and techniques to analyze engine performance data and make program recommendations

Lead cross-functional teams with Systems, Performance, Operability, Controls, and Transient to execute performance and integration studies/programs
n n - n
Manages interface between engineering disciplines organizations
n n - n
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
n n - n
Interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services
n n - n
Mentor and train less experienced engineers
n n - n
Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the manufacturing processes
n n - n
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
n n - n
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
n n - n
Explain difficult or sensitive information; work to build consensus
n n - n
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives
n n - n
Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications
n- n

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
n n - n
At least 8 additional years of experience in engine performance or an adjacent discipline
n n - n

Demonstrated experience supporting turbofan engine integration and production

Experience across SPOCT disciplines

Prior engine qualification and/or certification experience

Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

Demonstrated leadership in Engine Performance and systems integration

Demonstrated experience in engine thermodynamic modeling

Demonstrated experience with industry modeling tools including NPSS
n n - n
Familiarity with high level programming languages (Python, FORTAN, etc.)
n n
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
