Job Responsibilities and Required/Preferred Skills and Requirements

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provides technical assistance to radiologists while maintaining and caring for ultrasound equipment. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating and adjusting imaging equipment, capturing and transferring images to PACS, maintaining supply inventory, and ensuring patient and staff safety. The technologist also assists in orienting and mentoring new ultrasound staff, answering calls, scheduling exams, and coordinating patient transport as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) – RDMS required
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion
Knowledge of office and administrative practices

Education Requirements:

Required: Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology
OR High School Diploma/GED with completion of an accredited ultrasound/sonography training program
Preferred: None specified

Certifications & Licensure:

Required: ARDMS (RDMS), BLS
