Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care for general surgical patients, focusing on pre-operative and post-operative needs. This role involves working in a Med/Surg and Telemetry setting with a patient ratio of 1:5-6 and requires flexibility to float across Cone Health facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs.
• Perform responsibilities related to respiratory care, such as CPAP/BiPAP and oxygen administration.
• Provide gastrointestinal care including colostomy and feeding tube management.
• Oversee medications, including insulin and PCA management.
• Maintain isolation precautions and manage wound care.
• Support cardiac monitoring and emergency response with telemetry.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required, with a preference for previous charge RN experience.
• Current BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Flexibility with scheduling is necessary given the zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
• Must be aware of the Pass Fail EKG exam requirement for all RNs.
