Schedule

3-12 hour night shifts per week. 7P-7A, work every other weekend including Saturday and Sunday. Must work one winter holiday such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's.

Job Description

The Stepdown Unit consists of 28 private beds, providing care to patients with heavy cardiac issues, dysrhythmias, and CVAs, among others. Registered Nurses are responsible for monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient condition and vital signs, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.
• Titrate medications including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin.
• Perform procedures and maintain IV access; no IV team is available.
• Read and interpret cardiac strips; central monitor station interaction required.
• Collaborate with hospitalist and intensivist teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Active state nursing license.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
