About The Position
Job Title: Certified Surgical Technician Profession: CST/ORT Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 14:30-23:00 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: One or more years of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred License: N/A Certifications: BLS certification from AHA required Must-Have: Surgical Tech certification required Description: An integral member of the surgical team. Provides support for surgeons throughout the operation. Prepares, provides, and cares for instruments and equipment. Maintains a sterile field during surgeries. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from a school of Surgical Technology is preferred. Knowledge of care and handling of instruments and equipment is required. Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures is necessary. Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English is essential. Must comply with Universal Precautions and Right to Know guidelines. Expected to utilize all protective equipment available when there's potential exposure to infectious materials or hazardous chemicals. Heavy physical effort is required, including standing, walking, or lifting most of the day. Requires ability to speak, hear, and communicate verbal and written materials. Responsible to the Clinical Manager Operating Room and Director of Surgical Services.
