Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with EPIC experience for night shifts managing mixed acuity patients, with a valid OH or compact license required.

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit with mixed acuity including both progressive care and medical-surgical patients
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30; day/night rotating schedule option available
• Oncology experience preferred but not required
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Uses the EPIC electronic medical record system
• Self-scheduling is available; schedule requests are submitted for consideration
• First week of orientation is Monday through Friday dayshift; second week includes 36 hours of on-unit precepted orientation
• Initial orientation is structured and split between classroom and on-unit preceptorship
• All RTO (requested time off) must be submitted prior to contract signing and built into the agreement
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• All candidates must be able to complete OH fingerprinting quickly upon contract signing
• Former employees may return as travelers if away from the facility for at least 6 months
• Current employees are not eligible as travelers at this location

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• Strong IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management skills required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Degree from an ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program required
• At least 2 professional references, including one from a manager, director, or formal leader
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
