Radiology Technologist Job Details

Location: Tulsa, OK 74136 (Oklahoma healthcare job)
Setting: Hospital Radiology Department

Shift Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (e.g., M/F/Sat 7:00pm–7:30am; M/Th/F 7:00pm–7:30am; 1–2 days/month on call)

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1730 - $1860

Radiology Technologist Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist (Rad Tech)
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) registration in Radiology (ARRT-R)
BLS certification through AHA
Proficiency with digital radiography (DR) and/or computerized radiography (CR) equipment
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
Basic computer skills required
Ability to wear lead aprons for extended periods

Radiology Technologist Responsibilities

Operate radiology equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images as directed by physicians
Prepare and position patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
Escort patients and provide clear instructions regarding imaging procedures
Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff
Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment, reporting malfunctions promptly
Stock and maintain examination rooms and necessary radiology supplies
Follow infection control and emergency protocols in all clinical settings
Support department goals through ongoing education and process improvement initiatives
Assist with moderate sedation monitoring and patient comfort measures as needed
Ensure informed consent and participate in Universal Protocol for invasive procedures
