Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Progressive Care Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will care for patients with complex cardiac conditions in a fast-paced environment. The unit comprises 40 beds and typically operates with a nursing team that includes Charge Nurses, bedside nurses, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), and a Unit Secretary.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and titrate IV cardiac medications as necessary.
• Perform bedside procedures including cardioversion.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in the EMR system (Cerner).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Stepdown or progressive care experience.
• Telemetry experience.
• Experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications (e.g., nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone).
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS.
• Preferred: Experience with prostacyclins such as Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin.
