Job Description

The Staff Pharmacist – Retail/Community is responsible for managing day-to-day pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and accurate medication dispensing, and providing exceptional patient care. This role includes supervision of pharmacy staff, patient education, inventory management, and community engagement to support comprehensive pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities

Pharmacy Operations

• Oversee daily operations ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices
• Manage inventory, conduct audits, and maintain accurate transaction records
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely ordering and delivery of medications
• Maintain compliance with federal 340B program and other applicable regulations

Medication Dispensing & Patient Care

• Accurately interpret and dispense prescriptions in accordance with laws and regulations
• Review medication therapy for interactions and appropriateness
• Maintain accurate medication records and ensure patient confidentiality
• Provide immunizations under defined protocols
• Counsel patients and families on medication use, side effects, and over-the-counter options
• Address insurance and prescription-related inquiries professionally
• Collaborate with healthcare providers for optimal patient outcomes

Training & Education

• Supervise and train pharmacy technicians and students
• Stay current with continuing education and licensure requirements

Community Engagement

• Participate in community outreach and educational programs
• Build and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers and local organizations

Requirements

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy
• Current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in the State of Utah
• Licensure to dispense controlled substances in Utah
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills (Microsoft Office and pharmacy software)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team setting

Preferred:

• Three or more years of retail pharmacy experience
• APhA Immunization Certification
• Previous pharmacy management experience

Compensation

Traveler (W-2):

• Hourly Pay Rate: $84.00
• Weekly Gross: $3,360.00
• Taxable Pay: $2,120.00
• Non-Taxable Stipend: $1,240.00

Traveler (1099):

• Hourly Pay Rate: $88.00
• Weekly Gross: $3,520.00

Additional Information
