Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a pediatric float pool position requiring an OK or compact RN license, BLS, and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is within a hospital float pool, covering pediatric units as assigned
• Expected to work night shifts with holiday and weekend coverage required
• Three 12-hour shifts per week for the duration of the assignment
• Patient population includes pediatric patients with a wide range of medical conditions
• Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care for pediatric patients with complex and diverse health needs
• Expected to assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and minor diagnostic treatments
• Accountable for documentation of treatments, interventions, and changes in patient condition
• Required to educate and interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions
• Delegates tasks appropriately to support staff and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team
• Must adhere to facility guidelines regarding holiday and weekend shift assignments

Requirements

• Current OK RN license or valid multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary
• Ability to respond effectively to diverse patient and family needs
• Some computer proficiency is required
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility—local candidates not eligible
