Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Inpatient/PICU position requiring night shifts, a ND or compact RN license, and pediatric critical care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital setting on the Pediatric Inpatient and PICU units
• Patient population includes both general pediatric and pediatric intensive care with procedures such as continuous nebs, BiPAP, and DKA insulin drips
• Must be able to float to NICU to take grower/feeder assignments, to OB as helping hands, and to sit 1:1 house wide as needed
• Unit has 17 beds with PICU nurse:patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 and general peds ratios of 1:3 or 1:4
• 12-hour night shifts (1830-0700) with every other weekend and holiday required
• Uses Epic for EMR charting
• Responsibilities include managing a mixed acuity pediatric patient population and performing advanced pediatric care procedures
• Travelers typically receive a couple of orientation shifts
• May be required to float for coverage as needed across various units including NICU and OB
• Holiday shift coverage is expected per unit schedule
• Dress code is navy blue scrubs or a colorful child-friendly top with navy blue pants
• Must badge in and out of the facility each shift
• Previous Sanford Health employees must have at least a 6 month gap since last employment

Requirements

• Active RN license in ND or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric RN experience required
• BLS and PALS certifications required and active at the time of consideration
• Ability to care for both PICU and general pediatric floor patients
• Experience working with Epic EMR preferred
• Cannot have a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility
