Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Hematology Oncology position requiring BLS and PALS certifications and at least one year of pediatric nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on the Pediatric Hematology Oncology unit in a hospital setting
• Caring for pediatric patients with a range of simple to complex hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Day shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week
• Responsible for a defined group of patients, including documenting responses to interventions and prescribed treatments
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor procedures
• Administer medications, initiate and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Interact with families and patients to share and explain care plans
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to manage overall care for patients
• Not open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Active OK or compact RN license is required
• Current certifications from the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum of one year pediatric nursing experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Some computer skills necessary
