Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Acute Care Float Pool position requiring both MO and KS nursing licenses and recent travel nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a pediatric acute care float pool primarily within a hospital setting
• Float between pediatric acute care units at two campuses within the Kansas City area, approximately 12 miles apart
• Care for a pediatric patient population including Med Surg cases
• Day shift schedule, working 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
• Use Cerner for electronic charting
• No local radius restrictions—local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Responsibilities include providing nursing care to pediatric patients and floating only to units with similar acuity
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• All facilities are smoke-free
• Candidates should have a flexible schedule to accommodate floating requirements

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Active KS RN license required or proof of application submitted, may start with application pending
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required; RQI certifications not accepted
• 1-2 years of recent pediatric or pediatric med surg experience required
• Must have prior travel nursing experience
• Ability to pass a medication/dosage exam during the first week with 100% accuracy (up to three attempts)
• Clean Nursys verification required
