Location: Wichita, KS 67214 (Kansas healthcare jobs)
Position: Travel Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse
Unit: Step-Down / PCU (Progressive Care Unit nursing jobs)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: January 19, 2026
End Date: April 20, 2026
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Setting: On-site, hospital-based
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1470–$1570

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact state)
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Step-Down, or acute care nursing setting
Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac monitoring
NIH Stroke Scale certification required
Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population in an 8-bed Progressive Care Unit
Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and changes in patient condition
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including RNs and Patient Care Technicians, to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Accurately document all patient care activities in the Meditech EMR system
Educate and support patients and their families throughout the care process
Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and compliant environment for patients and staff
