Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 07:00 AM to 03:00 PM, with on-call from 03:30 PM to 06:00 PM.

Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse will be part of a dynamic surgical team operating in a facility with 6 operating rooms. The unit mainly handles elective procedures with a volume of 15 to 30 surgical cases per day, focusing primarily on a generally healthy patient population. Specialty procedures include General Surgery, Endoscopy, Plastic Surgery, Robotic Da Vinci Gynecology, Urology, Orthopedic Total Joints/Sports, ENT, and Cataracts.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for various surgical procedures, preferably in multiple specialties.
• Work collaboratively with surgical teams, ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical process.
• Assist in maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to safety protocols.
• Participate in the orientation and training of new staff, as well as ongoing skills assessment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current nursing license valid in the state of New York.
• Experience in the operating room, with skills in scrubbing and circulating preferred.
• Completion of Bassett Core Competencies and Skills Checklist upon onboarding.
• Required immunizations and health screenings, including MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB Test, and additional health history documentation.
