Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with general and GYN experience for a day shift assignment requiring a MD or compact RN license and Cerner proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a 14-room hospital Operating Room setting
• Day shift schedule: 5x8 hour shifts, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
• Patient population includes general surgery and gynecological cases
• Specialized equipment includes DaVinci Xi and Ion Robot
• Cerner EMR system is used and experience is required
• Floating to other units is required
• Call is required: 3 weeknights and 2 weekends every 6 weeks
• Must be available to work two out of three major holidays and the days surrounding each
• Responsibilities include supporting general, GYN, and a variety of surgical specialties in the OR
• Scrubs are provided in the color blue
• Billable and non-billable modules required pre-start and during orientation as necessary
• Candidates who have previously worked staff with the health system must have a 1 year break before being eligible as travelers
• Local candidates are accepted at a lower rate within a 60-mile radius
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday shift participation is required

Requirements

• Active MD or compact state RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Experience in general and GYN surgical procedures required
• Preferred skills include bariatrics, vascular, thoracic, ENT, endoscopic, neurology, and ophthalmology procedures
• Experience with facilities of similar size (14 OR rooms) preferred
• Two supervisor references required
• Address must match driver's license for local status determination
