Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Observation Unit position requiring a compact or OK RN license and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based ER Observation Unit
• Provides care for a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Night shift position with 12-hour shifts, three days per week
• No local candidates accepted due to a 50 mile radius rule
• Responsible for an assigned group of patients including administering medications, monitoring physiological data, and documenting interventions
• Assists physicians with exams and minor procedures
• Interacts with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must meet hospital standards for background check and drug screening
• Holiday coverage and rotation may be required

Requirements

• Active Oklahoma or multistate compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum of one year RN experience required; two years preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Ability to use computer systems and document effectively
