**Job Title: Cardiac Step Down Nurse - 12 Hour Night Shift**

**Description:**

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Cardiac Step Down Nurse for a 12-hour night shift position in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role is ideal for nurses with at least 2 years of nursing experience in a similar setting, focusing on cardiac patients.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality care to cardiac patients in a step-down unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions regularly, utilizing advanced medical equipment including vital signs machines, glucometers, SCDs, bladder scanners, and IV pumps.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including students and new hires, promoting a supportive and educational environment.
- Maintain current knowledge of ACLS and BLS protocols, ensuring readiness for emergency situations.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner using electronic medical records systems (Cerner preferred).

**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Cardiac Intensive Care or Step Down Unit.
- Active VA/Compact Nursing License (required at the time of submission).
- Current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
- Experience with various medical devices and patient care technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

**Position Details:**
- Shifts: 12-hour night shifts
- Start dates: Every other Monday (beginning 9/22 & 10/6)
- Credentialing needs to be submitted 1 week prior to the start date.
- All requests for time off (RTO) must be approved prior to acceptance.
