Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring SD or compact licensure and strong ortho/neuro case experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital OR setting with 4 beds
• Handles 7-13 surgical cases per day, including ortho, podiatry, neurosurgical, pain management, and ENT
• Procedures include total joints, ORIF, microsurgery, laminectomy, fusion, discectomy, ACDF, club foot procedures, pain injections, and ENT surgeries
• Works 8-hour day shifts
• Epic EMR experience required
• Call is typically twice per week, specifics discussed during interview
• Float to Rapid City hospital OR may be required if needed
• Work closely with an anesthesia/CRNA team and have access to a resource nurse and phlebotomy
• No IV/VAT team, no on-site hospitalist or RT
• Orientation includes first day computer training and up to 3 days of preceptor-led training
• Holiday coverage required for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• Time off requests must be approved by manager
• Scrubs are provided

Requirements

• Active SD or compact state RN license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years OR RN experience required; first-time travelers must have at least 2 years of experience
• Completion of an approved nursing education program
• Circulator experience in ortho/neuro and ENT cases required
• Must reside at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
