Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with prior travel experience and a compact or TN RN license for a night shift position in a Level 1 trauma hospital OR Float Pool.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the OR Float Pool of a hospital setting
• Covers a 17-bed operating room plus 5 procedure rooms handling both inpatient and outpatient cases
• Level 1 trauma environment with adult patient population; pediatric cases are not included
• Shifts are 12-hour nights (7p-7a) with flexible scheduling during the week; block scheduling is not available
• Weekend work is required as part of the rotation
• Travelers commonly handle ortho, trauma, vascular, spine, and craniotomy cases, but not open heart or transplant
• Float within the main OR, but not to other locations in the facility
• Care for adult surgical patients across a wide spectrum of procedures including neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant, robotic, and hybrid OR cases
• No cardiac or transplant assignments for travelers on the night/weekend shift
• Will participate in unit orientation on pre-scheduled dates only
• No on-call responsibilities are included for this position
• Must demonstrate schedule flexibility to meet unit needs

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent OR nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience in the OR is required
• COVID vaccine series or a valid exemption must be completed before the start date
