NICU RN Job Details – Portland, OR

Location: Portland, OR 97227 (Children's Hospital – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
Start Date: October 22, 2025
End Date: January 21, 2026
Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1660-$1770
Patient Population: Neonates (newborns) in Level III NICU
Charting System: Epic
Parking: Free in any unrestricted space

NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Oregon RN license (pending accepted with proof of application/fingerprints)
Minimum 1 year of recent NICU RN experience
Previous travel nursing experience required
BLS and NRP certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
Epic charting experience required
Willingness to float within scope to other units (including PICU/6th floor)
Cannot reside within 50 miles of any Legacy facility (per travel nurse guidelines)
Completion of assigned education modules within one week of assignment start
One reference from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager (preferably within the last year)
No felony background hits

NICU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to neonates in a Level III NICU
Attend high-risk deliveries and provide specialized neonatal care
Perform and assist with advanced NICU procedures (PICC lines, UAC/UVC lines, exchange transfusions, body cooling, CRRT)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy)
Utilize advanced neonatal equipment (neonatal beds, Neopuff, NicView cameras)
Float to other pediatric units as needed within nursing scope
Accurately document patient care using Epic EHR
Participate in ongoing education and complete required nursing competencies
Work two weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week period and at least one holiday during the assignment
