Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level IV Neonatal ICU position requiring advanced NICU and telemetry skills, with Wisconsin or compact licensure.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Level IV Neonatal ICU (NICU) at a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center
• 26-bed unit caring for critically ill newborns and infants with complex medical and surgical needs
• Day and night 12-hour shifts available (7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am), with 2-3 weekends required per 6-week scheduling period
• Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations within the organization as staffing needs require
• Patients include infants requiring advanced diagnostic, post-operative, and respiratory support, including trach/vent and g-tube management
• EPIC EMR system is used and experience is required
• Care for newborns and infants across the continuum, including those requiring invasive/noninvasive ventilation, post-surgical management, and family-centered care
• Team environment features pediatric specialists and faculty support
• First-time travelers may be accepted in some units
• Orientation typically lasts one week and includes specific unit-based training
• Pass/fail telemetry test must be passed before starting; limited attempts permitted, with a remediation process available
• Weekend and some holiday work required
• Facility does not accept local travelers within a 50-mile radius

Requirements

• Active Wisconsin or compact RN license required and must be in hand at consideration
• Current BLS, PALS (American Heart Association only), and NRP certifications required
• Minimum two years recent acute care RN experience, with at least one year in a Level IV NICU or Level III NICU with surgical and trach/vent management
• Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience required, including ability to pass a telemetry examination prior to start
• EPIC EMR charting experience required
• Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred
