MS Stroke Stepdown Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night Shift

Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Job Description:

Join our team as a nurse in the MS Stroke Stepdown unit. This position involves providing care to adult patients with various diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation, general medical-surgical needs, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues. You will be expected to work closely with specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to stroke stepdown patients.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the medical team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2+ years of experience in MS Stroke Stepdown nursing.
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Active NY nursing license with all RN licenses verified through NURSYS.
• 2 recent MS Charge/Manager RN references.
• EMR experience with EPIC.
