Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)

Location: Sterling, IL
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Variable Shifts (Nights until 11/17, then switch to Days if flexible)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours/Week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Medical-Surgical unit.
• Monitor, assess, and record patient conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
• Utilize EPIC EMR for patient charting and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, infection control standards, and hospital policies.
• Support patients and their families through education and emotional care.

Requirements:

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
