Unit: Medical/Surgical (MS/Tele)
Position Type: Locum tenens, Travel LPN contract
Start Date: October 21, 2025
End Date: January 20, 2026
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1210 - $1240
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
EMR: Epic
Scrub Colors: Navy and white
Orientation: 16 hours

LPN Qualifications

Active New York LPN license (Licensed Practical Nurse)
Minimum 1 year of recent hospital LPN experience (within last 2 years)
Previous travel nursing experience required
BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
Proficiency with Epic EMR
Ability to float to other Medical Surgical units as needed
Capable of managing own patient assignment with RN support
Willing to work every other weekend
Must live more than 75 miles from the facility (travel LPN requirement)

Key Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients in a busy Med/Surg setting
Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and patient status using Epic
Administer medications (IM & SQ), oxygen therapy, and manage feeding tubes
Perform wound care, dressing changes, and pressure ulcer prevention
Assist with Foley catheter insertion, colostomy care, and routine procedures
Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
Communicate patient status changes to RN or physician
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds with IV, PT, Respiratory, and Pharmacy teams
Float to other Med/Surg units as required
Maintain compliance with isolation precautions and infection control protocols
