Job Title: Acute Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Acute Med/Surg team. This full-time position entails working 3 shifts per week (either 7 PM - 7 AM or 7 AM - 7 PM) and includes weekend and holiday rotations. Candidates must be open to working through the holiday season.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide direct patient care and evaluate patient progress, coordinating care delivery throughout the patient’s stay.
• Develop specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.
• Educate patients and families about self-care post-hospitalization and lifestyle changes to promote health and healing.
• Apply strong communication skills to assess patient/family needs and tailor education sessions accordingly.
• Engage in self-evaluation and quality improvement initiatives to enhance nursing practice.
• Promote a supportive and healing environment by building trust and rapport with patients and their families.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention strategies and maintain competencies for specific patient populations.

Qualifications

• Current New York State RN Licensure is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a Med/Surg nursing environment preferred.
