Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Manchester, CT 06040 (Connecticut travel nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Unit: Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg 3N)
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/27/2025 – End: 1/26/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1950 - $2100
• Shift: 8-hour evening shifts (3:00pm – 11:30pm), 5 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 40
• Patient Population: Adult medical/surgical patients
• Unit Size: 27 beds, daily census 15-20
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
• Float: Must be able to float to other hospital units as needed

Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or compact state (required for travel RN jobs)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing experience
• Experience with Meditech EHR/EMR charting system preferred
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult medical/surgical patients in a hospital setting
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses including ARF, PNA, COPD, GI bleed, orthopedic cases, gall bladder surgery, and urology procedures
• Perform Med/Surg and Telemetry duties, including remote and on-unit cardiac monitoring
• Administer medications and blood products, initiate and maintain IVs, and manage central and peripheral lines
• Care for patients with feeding tubes, colostomies, surgical drains, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
• Implement isolation precautions and perform wound care, including wound vac management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Social Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams)
• Respond to rapid response/code team activations as needed
• Accurately document patient care using Meditech electronic health record (EHR) system
