Med/Surg RN - Full Time

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The RN will deliver high-quality patient care while applying their nursing knowledge, technical skills, and communication abilities.

Position Details

• Shift: Full Time (36 hours) + 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks
• Working Days: Rotational Day/Night/Weekend/Holidays required
• Licensure: NYS RN Licensure required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening, social perceptiveness, and analysis of data obtained through direct observation and communication.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Provide direct patient care and regularly evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
• Protect the health, safety, and rights of patients while promoting mutual trust and cooperation among team members.
• Educate patients and families on care procedures and lifestyle changes to support health and healing beyond hospitalization.
• Document education provided and assess patient/family responses to ensure understanding and retention.
• Engage in quality improvement activities to enhance individual nursing practice and care delivery.
• Create supportive, healing environments for patients and their families through meaningful interactions.
• Administer medications and perform other essential nursing interventions while observing safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse
• Skills: BLS, ACLS, and current NYS RN licensure are required
