Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details

Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
Healthcare Setting: Medical Surgical Float Pool (MS/Tele)
Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: 3 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1940 - $1990
Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
Float Requirement: Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
Weekend Coverage: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
Proficient in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
Experience with EPIC electronic health records (EHR)
Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:4-5
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Previous travel nursing experience required
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting
Float to various medical-surgical units within the healthcare organization as needed
Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage IVs, and respond to patient needs
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, and physical therapy
Deliver care for a range of diagnoses, including post-surgical and complex medical cases
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EHR
Participate in rapid response and code teams as required
Adhere to infection control and isolation protocols
