Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift contract requiring prior travel and strong EPIC skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital medical-surgical telemetry unit
• 12-hour night shifts with a rotating schedule Monday through Sunday
• Every other weekend required
• Care for acute med/surg and telemetry patients
• Bedside NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and telemetry strip interpretation are part of the role
• Must work 2 out of 4 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Day
• EPIC EMR experience from within the past 2 years is required
• Must be able to perform bedside procedures including NG tube and peripheral IV insertions and interpret telemetry strips
• No block scheduling available
• Travelers should have vehicles equipped with all season or snow tires November through April
• Complete and accurate work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type is required for consideration
• RTO is accepted but must be fully documented at time of consideration

Requirements

• Active VT or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; NIHSS must be completed before starting
• Telemetry certification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years med/surg tele experience or at least 3 years of tele experience required
• Prior travel experience with completion of 2 assignments in 300+ bed facilities or previous experience in a UVMHN acute care facility
• EPIC experience within the past 2 years is mandatory
• Reliable transportation is required; public transportation is not accessible in this area
