Position: Nurse Manager – Operating Room
Location: University Hospital
Shift: Primarily 1st shift; variable based on 24/7 operations

Overview:
Seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Manager to lead patient care operations within University Hospital. This role oversees approximately 80 staff members across 18 OR suites. Strong leadership skills required; experience in a union environment preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, manage, and evaluate patient care operations on a 24-hour basis.
• Develop short-, mid-, and long-term goals aligned with the Medical Center’s mission, vision, and values.
• Monitor outcomes, identify challenges, and implement solutions for improvement.
• Manage, coach, and evaluate performance of patient care staff.
• Promote collaboration across patient care departments for seamless operations.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based practice standards.
• Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in patient care and processes.
• Lead initiatives to address and correct factors contributing to undesirable outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s in Nursing or related field preferred.
• License: Current and valid Ohio RN license.
• Experience: 3–5 years of clinical and management experience in a relevant care setting; minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
• Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
