Job Description

The Pediatric LTAC Registered Nurse provides specialized care for pediatric patients requiring long-term acute care. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing nursing care plans, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in a long-term acute setting.
• Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, ensuring timely interventions.
• Manage respiratory support, including modes of ventilation and tracheostomy care.
• Perform complex wound care and infection prevention measures.
• Administer medication and manage nutrition plans, including tube feedings.
• Support patients and their families through education and emotional support.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with pediatric experience preferred.
• Prior LTAC experience is preferred.
• Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Must have documented experience with mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy management.
