Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 36 hours/week
Weekend Coverage: Required
Unit: 6 Doan Hall, Labor and Delivery, High Risk Obstetrics
Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
Daily Census: 10 patients
Number of Beds: 13
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2050-$2100

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
Active RN license (compact or Ohio nursing license required)
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (NCC C-EFM or AWHONN Advanced)
Proficient in EPIC charting
IV start and Labor & Delivery clinical skills
Previous travel nurse experience preferred
Ability to float to other hospital units
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Two professional references (one from manager/director or leadership)

L&D RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive care to laboring patients, including high-risk obstetrics
Perform IV starts and maintain central lines (CVC/PICC)
Assist with sterile speculum exams, cervical cerclage, and spiral electrode placement
Circulate and recover C-sections, tubal ligations, and vaginal deliveries
Monitor fetal heart rates using advanced fetal monitoring equipment
Administer medications: Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, epidural anesthesia
Support breastfeeding and lactation needs
Assess pain, perform wound care, and manage postpartum hemorrhage
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, respiratory, pharmacy, social services)
Float to Antepartum and other units as needed
