Texas ICU Nursing Job Details

• Location: Tyler, TX 75701 – Explore Texas nursing jobs in a city known for its scenic parks, welcoming neighborhoods, and the renowned Tyler Rose Garden.
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical ICU (16 beds, 12 rooms, average daily census of 14)
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Required (6 weekend shifts per 6-week period)
• Orientation: 36 hours onsite
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1530–$1570

ICU RN Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or Critical Care nursing experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Active RN license for the state of Texas
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Preferred: Charge nurse experience, community hospital experience, LTAC experience, Trauma Level I/II experience
• Must not reside in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, Morris counties
• English language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in a critical care setting
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Demonstrate sensitivity to patients’ physical, spiritual, and emotional needs
• Support hospital programs to ensure high-quality patient care
• Efficiently manage department and patient activities
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients and stakeholders
• Float to other nursing units as needed
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Utilize advanced ICU nursing skills: ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and more
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
