Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level 1 ICU position requiring SD or compact RN license, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute care hospital ICU (Critical Care Unit)
• Unit has 39 ICU beds across three locations
• Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, with 1:1 for high acuity and occasional 1:3 for overflow or transfers
• Required to float to med/surg or step down units based on department needs
• Charting is done in Epic EMR, with training provided
• General nursing orientation is provided, including computer-based training, competency test-outs, EMR training, and unit-specific education
• Navy blue scrubs are required for this position
• Must be willing to float to other units with orientation based on skill set
• All candidates must badge in and out at the facility
• Must be available to work two of the three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
• Candidates with prior employment at Sanford Health must have ended employment at least 6 months before consideration
• Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted

Requirements

• Active SD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience with Epic EMR is preferred
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
