Intermediate Care Unit RN - Float Pool

Job Description

The Intermediate Care Unit RN is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients within the Float Pool. This role encompasses a diverse patient population including Med/Surg, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3. Nursing staff may be floated to other stepdown and Med/Surg units as necessary but will not typically float to other critical care environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.
• Utilize the nursing process to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to deliver individualized care.
• Direct nursing support staff in accordance with established nursing practice standards, administrative, and departmental policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in nursing is preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a clinical specialty area is preferred.
• Current PA or MSL Compact Registered Nurse License is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Additional certifications may be required based on specialty area.

Schedule

This position requires a NOC shift with 12-hour workdays.
